Mahmud Karimov: â€œANAS Presidium lost its legitimacyâ€

The reason is that the elections to ANAS membership havenâ€™t been held yet. This information was given by ANAS president Mahmud Karimov, APA reports.

According to him, the elections to full and corresponding member places of ANAS were delayed to the end of the year: â€œThe elections must be held till the end of the year, because the election time has already passed. One of the main and important points is that the ANAS Presidium has lost its legitimacy, because the term of presidium members has already been finished. Thatâ€™s why president and vice-presidents must be elected every 5 years. Our term has already finished. It can be said that currently, we almost carry out non-legitimate activityâ€.

Karimov said that the last ANAS membership elections were held in July, 2007: â€œThe posts of directors are vacant in some institutes. The candidates to these places are known. It only remains to give the announcement and to hold the electionâ€.
