This raising impacted the water level in the lower course of Kur river and caused the raising of water level in that part of the river, senior hydrologist of the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Asif Verdiyev told APA. According to him, the water level in Kur river’s part crossing from Zardab region raised by 37 cm, Kur’s lower course – by 33 cm, Shirvan – by 27 cm: “The most rains were recorded in Azerbaijan’s western region. The water level raised in Goychay river and Turyanchay river. Garasu river appears as a result of confluence of those rivers and runs into Kur. Though the water level raising in Garasu river impacts the lower course of Kur river, it is not dangerous for Kur, because the water level in Kur is low now”.

Verdiyev said that no flood and overflows were observed in Azerbaijan’s rivers and didn’t exclude that the intermittent floods and overflows would pass from some rivers due to the forecasted rains.
