Presentation to be organized on research of ancient graves in south of Azerbaijan

Baku-APA. The conference devoted to the research of ancient graves in Azerbaijanâ€™s Lankaran and Lerik regions will be organized in French Institute in Azerbaijan.

APA reports that archeologist Michel Kazanova will make a press conference on July 19 about archeological excavations carried out in Azerbaijanâ€™s Lankaran and Lerik regions in July, 2012.

The works mostly cover the excavations carried out in Kraveladi and Lakerchay valleys. These researches give opportunity to examine more carefully burial mounds located in above mentioned territory and find the existing interactions between Caucasian states, Iran and Anadolu.

The French-Azerbaijani project that started in 2011 will continue till 2015. French Universite de Rennes 2 - Haute Bretagne cooperates with State Archeology Museum of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences within this project.

Jacque and Henry Morgan brothers discovered some wealthy graves in this regions in 1890.
