There three universities in Gandja. It is planned to build hostel complex in the campus of the Azerbaijani State Agricultural University in Gandja. Number of foreigners studying in Azerbaijan will increase after the construction of hostel complex,†said Minister of Education Misir Mardanov, APA reports.
The minister also noted that number of foreigners studying in Azerbaijan has decreased. One of the reasons is a hostel problem.
According to him, though 1249 foreign students studied in the BSU in 2008-2009, this number has dropped to 724 in 2011-2012 academic year. 444 foreign students studied in the Medical University in 2008-2009, this number also dropped to 261 in 2011-2012 academic year. The minister said that in general this number also decreased in the other universities by two times.
