Misir Mardanov: â€œTeachersâ€™ salaries of the EU member countries are higher several times than Azerbaijanâ€

Baku. Sevil Zeynalgizi-APA. More than 3000 teachers are required to the Azerbaijani secondary schools. 90% of them fall to the share of regional schools, said the Minister of Education Misir Mardanov, APA reports.

According to the minister, the teachers of geography are more in need: â€œApplication of documents dealing with the teacher recruitment for the following academic year has been already started. The teacher recruitment will be conducted in accordance with the rulesâ€.

The minister also informed on his recent visits to Italy and Lithuania. Mardanov said that the visits aimed to become familiarize with their educational system and current reforms in this sphere, to expend relations and apply the achievements of educational systems of these countries in Azerbaijan: â€œFund allocated from the state budget for the teachers in Italy, Lithuania, in general the EU member countries are higher several times than the salary of Azerbaijani teachers. These funds canâ€™t be compared with Azerbaijanâ€.
