Eurasian Universities Trade Union Association holds its XXII congress in Baku

Baku. Victoria Dementyeva â€“ APA. XXII congress of the Eurasian Universities Trade Union Association was opened in Baku State University on Monday. The event coincided with 90th anniversary of the Baku State University. President of the Association Igor Kotlobsky, rector of the Baku State University Abel Maharramov, Chairman of Trade Union of Kiev National University Vladimir Tsvikh attended the opening ceremony. Delegations from Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan also joined the congress. In his welcoming speech Abel Maharramov called the association the largest organization in CIS carried out effective cooperation. â€œIt is not political organization, but united more than 60 universities of CIS countries. It is important to develop regional integration in the field of educationâ€.

Igor Kotlobsky emphasized the importance of uniting efforts for protection of civil rights, organizing the experience exchange between the universities and different scientific-practical conferences.

Maharramov was awarded with 100th anniversary medal of Russian trade unions for his role in strengthening of friendship between the peoples. The Association representatives presented special gift to the rector on the occasion of 90th anniversary of Baku State University.

Trade unions of Baku and Moscow state universities signed an agreement of cooperation, which considers mutual visits of delegations, creative and sport teams of the universities. Baku State University is expected to sign similar agreement with Kiev University too.
