Russian President Vladimir Putin has banned the deportation of foreigners serving under contract in the Russian army, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
Putin signed a law prohibiting the deportation of foreign citizens who have served in the Russian army, as well as the refusal to issue them residence permits.
According to the law, foreigners who have served under contract in the Russian army cannot be denied temporary residence permits, residence permits, or work permits. At the same time, documents that have already been issued cannot be revoked.
