Former Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov has died, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
Ivanov died at the age of 73.
Note that on February 4 this year, Vladimir Putin relieved Sergei Ivanov of his duties as Special Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport. On February 16, he was removed from the membership of the Security Council.
Recall that Ivanov worked alongside Putin in the KGB and later in foreign intelligence. In the Russian Federation, Ivanov served as Secretary of the Security Council, Minister of Defense, Deputy Prime Minister, and Head of the Presidential Administration.
