The joint statement by the United States and the Gulf Cooperation Council is a distortion of the truth and a repetition of failed experiences, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said while commenting on the statement issued on June 25 by the foreign ministers of the United States and the Gulf Cooperation Council on X, APA's Tehran bureau reports.
Baghaei said that Iran is the country most interested in the issue of regional collective security.
According to him, “The Gulf Cooperation Council's seeing the solution to this issue in relying on the party that has done the most to undermine security is both contrary to the objective and a disappointing approach that shows no lessons have been learned from recent bitter experiences.”
