Military marches held in Baku, Khankendi, Shusha and five other cities - PHOTO - UPDATED

On the occasion of 26 June – Armed Forces Day and the 108th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan Army, servicemen’s marches accompanied by military orchestra were organized along designated routes on various streets and avenues of the capital, as well as in the cities of Nakhchivan, Sumgayit, Ganja, Barda, Khankendi, Lachin, and Shusha, the Ministry of Defense told APA.

Prior to the marches, the memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and Shehids who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland was honored with a minute of silence. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.

Patriotic songs performed by military orchestras and the marches accompanied by military songs led to great interest and applause by onlookers.

The march is taking place along the city's central streets and avenues accompanied by military bands.

Military personnel will march along the following routes until 12:00:

Route I: Heydar Aliyev Palace – Bulbul Avenue – Nizami Cinema Center – Neftchilar Avenue – Azadlig Square – Baku Sea Port;

Route II: Alley of Martyrs – Flame Towers Complex – Chamabarakand Park – Icherisheher metro station – Gosha Gala Gate – Azerbaijan State Puppet Theatre – Azneft Circle – Bahram Gur Monument;

Route III: G. Musabayov Park – Abdurrahim bey Hagverdiyev Street – Huseyn Javid Avenue – Huseyn Javid Park – Parliament Avenue – Alley of Martyrs;

Route IV: Olympic Star Sports and Entertainment Center – Samad Vurgun Street – Officers Park – Baku State Circus – Heydar Aliyev Palace – Imadaddin Nasimi Monument – Neftchilar Avenue;

Route V: Nariman Narimanov Monument – Central Park – Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theatre – Winter Park – Heydar Aliyev Palace – Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan – 28 Mall Shopping Center.

In addition to Baku, military marches accompanied by military bands are also being held today in the central streets, avenues, and squares of Sumgayit, Ganja, Nakhchivan, Barda, Khankendi, Lachin, and Shusha to mark the 108th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
