Counterpart International completes one more project in Azerbaijan

Baku. Victoria Dementyeva – APA. Counterpart International humanitarian assistance program completed one more project in Azerbaijan. According to APA, the organization finalized reconstruction of sanitary and water lines of special school for deaf-mute children in Nizami district of Baku. Counterpart International CIS Director Sergei Khomchenko said the program provided assistance to needy people, internally displaced persons in Azerbaijan for 12 years. The program funded by the U.S. State Department supplies the needy people with clothes and medicines and reconstructs the dwelling buildings. Khomchenko said each project costs less than 12 million dollars, but it could solve local problems of the enterprises. He said six projects were carried out in 2009. Director on Humanitarian Projects of the U.S. State Department Eurasian Fund Gerald Oberndorfer and US embassy staff members attended the ceremony.
