Azerbaijan to host Give a Book charity event

As part of the activities devoted to the ‘Year of the Child’ in Azerbaijan, the organisers of Education & Career have timed a charity event, ‘Give a Book’ – the aim of which is to collect books for children’s homes – to coincide with the exhibition. Almost everyone has books at home, which have already served their families well. We are inviting visitors to give these books a second life by donating them to children’s homes.
The aim of the charity event is to nurture the moral and spiritual health of children and teenagers through reading. Over the past decade, books have become less and less important as a source of moral and spiritual guidance for today’s teenagers. Nevertheless, cultivating a love of reading and developing skills for reflecting upon and analysing what one has read remain a fixed goal in educating teenage generations. This is why the organisers of this charitable activity are trying to fill the libraries of children’s homes with a greater selection of books.
Iteca Caspian calls on everyone to support children’s reading by taking part in the ‘Give a Book’ event! Anyone wishing to donate a book can bring it to organiser’s stand at the Education & Career exhibition on 10-12 September. The books donated to the children’s homes will not only bring pleasure to children; they will also be given a second life in being used by children without parents.
