Bodies engaged in passenger transportation are on the alert in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan Airlines (AzAL) CSC and Azerbaijan Railway CSC have already started taking necessary measures at the airport and in the trains.

Spokesman for AzAL Maharram Safarli told APA that the company has strengthened measures more after receiving information that two were tested positive for A/H1N1 in Azerbaijan. As regards installation of thermal scanners at the airport, AzAL official said they have not bought such equipment yet.
“We try to prevent any problem concerning the virus, eliminate the problem in time,” he said.

Spokesman for Azerbaijan Railway Nadir Azmammadov said a telegram was sent to inform all the trains moving towards the north about A/H1N1 virus in Azerbaijan, they were given instructions to take relevant measures.
“Necessary measures are being taken in the internal trains. Border checkpoints are also on alert,” he said.

Azmammadov also said that Medical-Sanitary Service of the railway and other sanitary structures are taking preventive measures.
Medical brigades have been set up to accompany passenger trains in the country if necessary. Sanitary-Quarantine Inspection of Azerbaijan Railway CSC has set up hotline. Information will be given to the hotline in case there are persons suspected of infection in passenger trains, railway stations and border checkpoints. The phone numbers of the hotline are: 499 48 28, 499 60 25.
