Armenian Eurovision song hints so-called â€œArmenian genocideâ€

Mutlu, who has attentively watched Eurovision contests since 2003, said that Rivasâ€™ â€œApricot Stoneâ€ hinted 1915 events. â€œI am not an enemy of Armenians, but â€œApricot Stoneâ€ is a song beaten about the bushâ€.

The composer said first couplet of the song â€“ â€œMany, many years ago when I was a little child, our world is cruel and wild, but to make your way through cold and heat love is all that you needâ€ - reminded about deportation of Armenians by Ottoman Empire in 1915 and ways they have passed. He said the word â€œmotherlandâ€ in the following couplet â€“ â€œApricot stone, I will drop it down in the frozen ground Iâ€™ll just let it make its round Apricot stone, hidden in my hand given back to me from the motherlandâ€ - meant Turkish territories and â€œNow I see the northern stars shining brightly in the storm and Iâ€™ve got an avatar of my love to keep me warm now Iâ€™m not afraid of violent winds they may blow they canâ€™t winâ€ also kept a message to Turkey. In his opinion, the meaning of the couplet â€œMay the winter stay away form my harvest night and day may God bless and keep my cherished fruit grow me tree up to the sky once I waved my home goodbye I just wanna go back to my rootsâ€ is also clear.
