The 2026 Global Education Monitoring Report, presented at a high-level event at UNESCO headquarters, is dedicated to the theme of accessibility and equity in education as the first edition of the three-part series titled “Countdown to 2030,” the Ministry of Science and Education told APA.
The report aims to assess countries’ progress in education, particularly in terms of accessibility and equity, analyze the key factors influencing these outcomes, and contribute to discussions on the post-2030 education agenda.
Within this framework, the report covers indicators of accessibility and equity across preschool, primary, secondary, and higher education levels over the past 25 years. The report also links the results obtained based on country samples in the mentioned areas to broader research.
In this context, Azerbaijan’s achievements in preschool education are included among exemplary country practices. The report notes that within just five years, Azerbaijan increased the rate of five-year-old children enrolled in school preparation groups from 25 percent to 92 percent, demonstrating a globally exemplary result. The report also highlighted the legislative reforms implemented in our country, as well as the work done in the areas of teacher training and content.
Recall that more than 30 education ministers, heads of international organizations, and education experts participated in the presentation ceremony. The UNESCO Global Education Monitoring Report can be accessed here.
