The 2026 QS Best Student Cities ranking, compiled by the prestigious global higher education analyst Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), has been released, APA reports.
According to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Science and Education, Baku climbed 22 places compared to last year, ranking 95th among 150 cities worldwide.
Baku shares the 95th position with Aberdeen in the United Kingdom, Guangzhou in China, and Johannesburg in South Africa.
According to the ranking, Baku recorded the highest result in the South Caucasus, making it the region's leading student city. It also outperformed several major cities in Central Asia, with Astana ranking 119th, Bishkek 137th, and Tashkent 146th.
The QS Best Student Cities ranking evaluates cities based on their attractiveness for higher education and student life. The assessment takes into account the performance of local universities in the QS World University Rankings, graduate employability, safety and living environment, affordability of tuition and living costs, the number and diversity of international students, as well as feedback from students who have studied in those cities.
