SOCAR has commissioned its 100th filling station in Romania, SOCAR Petroleum SA told APA-Economics.

According to the company, the new filling station was opened in the city of Galati, located on the banks of the Danube River in eastern Romania and considered an important economic and cultural center of the region.

Speaking at the official opening ceremony, SOCAR Vice President Anar Mammadov stated that when the first SOCAR-branded filling station was commissioned in Romania 15 years ago, the company set goals such as building a strong brand, offering high-quality products and services, and earning customers' trust.

"Romania holds a special place in our strategy. It is one of the first European Union countries where we invested under the SOCAR brand. Our presence and development in this market reflect our confidence in Romania's economy, its business environment, and its people. We have now reached 100 filling stations," SOCAR Vice President Anar Mammadov said.

Describing the opening of SOCAR's 100th filling station in Romania as an important milestone for the company, Ramin Aliyev, CEO of SOCAR Petroleum SA, said:

"In the coming years, we aim to strengthen our position in the Romanian market and increase our market share. At the same time, investments in logistics infrastructure in Romania, including fuel storage facilities, enable us to ensure the uninterrupted supply of our filling stations and the continuous delivery of fuel. One of the advantages for SOCAR customers is the opportunity to obtain fuel directly from the producer. This allows us to offer products that combine quality and high performance. Our goal is to create a network that Romanian customers can rely on every day."

Recall that SOCAR operates in Romania through SOCAR Petroleum SA, established in 2011. In 2025, the company recorded a turnover of 3.9 billion lei (approximately 750 million euros), an increase of 9.7% compared to the previous year.

The company currently operates three fuel storage depots across the country. To date, SOCAR has invested 400 million lei (approximately 78.4 million euros) in the Romanian economy.
