Uzbekistan views the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) as a platform for mutual trust and practical partnership, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said during his speech at the OTS summit in Ankara, APA reports.
He noted that it is important to unite more closely around strategic goals and jointly promote common interests in the international arena.
The Uzbek President emphasized that OTS member countries are ready to mobilize their efforts for the sake of Turkic solidarity.
He also expressed his sincere gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for Azerbaijan's significant efforts during its chairmanship of the organization to strengthen fraternal ties between the peoples of OTS member states and raise cooperation to a new level.
Mirziyoyev considered it important to hold regular political consultations on pressing international and regional issues within the organization and to coordinate approaches and efforts.
He also proposed drafting a multilateral agreement on mutual visits by citizens. It is recommended that the agreement cover expanding travel opportunities using identity cards, simplifying border-crossing procedures, and regulating citizens' stays in the territory of the host country.
