Azerbaijani FM: Armenia must take necessary steps to sign peace agreement

Azerbaijan has fully restored its territorial integrity and sovereignty and put an end to the conflict, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said today during his speech at the 13th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Ankara, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.

The Foreign Minister recalled that the text of the peace agreement, drafted on the basis of principles proposed by Azerbaijan, was initialed last year.

Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized the importance of Armenia taking the necessary political and legal steps for the signing of the agreement.

At the same time, it was noted that large-scale restoration and reconstruction work is underway in the Garabagh and East Zangezur regions, modern infrastructure is being developed, and approximately 100,000 people are living, working, and studying in these territories.

It was also noted that the development of the Middle Corridor, the realization of the Zangezur Corridor, the expansion of transport connectivity, mutual investments, and joint projects are creating new opportunities for cooperation in trade and industry.
