International rating agency Moody's Ratings has stated that geopolitical developments are creating new opportunities for Azerbaijan in terms of increasing oil revenues and developing international trade routes, APA-Economics reports, citing the rating agency.
It was noted that the Russia-Ukraine war is the main driving factor behind geopolitical changes in the region. Meanwhile, the overall impact of developments in the Middle East on the region is assessed as largely neutral.
According to Moody's assessment, increased oil revenues are among the main economic opportunities created by the geopolitical situation for Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
At the same time, trade and capital flows bypassing Russian territory, diversification of partnerships with China and Middle Eastern countries, and the redirection of international freight transportation to the Middle Corridor are considered additional economic opportunities for the region.
The agency also assessed limited trade and import ties with Gulf countries as an advantage for the region.
