Grand opening ceremony of International Jazz Festival

â€œThe festival shows development of Azerbaijani jazz,â€ he said.
Rector of Baku Music Academy Farhad Badalbayli took a pride in the continuation of the International Jazz Festival.
â€œWe are glad that Azerbaijani youth attaches great importance to jazz. Its development shows interest in this kind of music. I was pleased with Shahin Novresliâ€™s concert yesterday. I am sure that the youth will not regret choosing this music,â€ he said.
The presenter of the event Rahib Azeri noted that the festival is organized by Culture and Tourism Ministry, Youth and Sport Ministry, Fund of Azerbaijani Culture Friends and Baku Jazz Center.
He said that six master classes will be organized in the framework of the festival.
Young jazz singers and professor of Russian Music Academy named after Gnesins, saxophonist Alexander Oseychuk with his quartet and associate professor, saxophonist Janna Ilmer will perform in Baku Jazz Center on June 8-9.
â€œAziza Mustafazade, daughter of jazz pianist and composer Vagif Mustafazade will give concert in Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater her motherland. Representative of one of the famous jazz schools in Europe Polish jazz school, scat-vocalist Gjegoj Karnas with his quintet and US quartet ZJAZZ will give concert in Green Theater on June 9. Anar Yusifovâ€™s group Orient Xpress will give concert in Jazz Center,â€ he said.
Rahib Azeri said that the youngest participant of the festival Isfar Sarabski, Volcano quartet will give concert on the forth day of the festival.
Closing ceremony of Baku International Jazz festival will be held in Green Theater on June 14.
Natig rhythm group under the leadership of Natig Shirinov, young pianist Emil Mammadov and others performed in the opening ceremony of the festival on June 7. /APA/
