Russia will restrict imports of all quarantined products from Armenia starting June 12, APA’s Moscow bureau reports, citing the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor).
It was reported that the agency has restricted the import from Armenia to Russia of all quarantined products, including tomatoes, grapes, dried fruits and many other products.
The transit of these products through Russian territory to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union has also been restricted starting June 12.
"The decision was made due to the systematic detection of quarantine objects. Since May this year, the service has gradually restricted the import of certain types of Armenian quarantine products and has repeatedly informed the Armenian side about disruptions in supplies," Rosselkhoznadzor said in a statement.
It was also noted that the list of quarantine goods in the EAEU includes, for example, grapes, onions, rice, corn, certain types of coffee and dried fruits, tomatoes, potatoes and other products.
