A meeting of the Economic Council was held today, the Cabinet of Ministers told the APA.
The agenda of the meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Ali Asadov, included detailed discussions on the work carried out regarding the organization of the activities of the Alat Free Economic Zone, key infrastructure issues requiring resolution, strategic vision and development prospects, as well as the role of the service sector in economic growth, its development potential, priority areas identified in the service sector, related proposals, and other current issues.
Presentations on the agenda items were delivered by Assistant to the President and Head of the Economic Affairs and Innovative Development Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Shahmar Movsumov and Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov.
Members of the Economic Council and Chairman of the Board of the Alat Free Economic Zone Authority Valeh Alasgarov also spoke on the issues presented.
At the end of the meeting, relevant decisions were adopted, taking into account the opinions and proposals of the Economic Council members, and instructions were given to the relevant institutions.
