“Our example should still be studied by those who are still at war and accepted as a roadmap," said President Ilham Aliyev at the awarding ceremony of the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity in Abu Dhabi, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Abu Dhabi reports.
“These six months were very important for the development of our relations. We not only lifted restrictions on cargo transportation to Armenia via Azerbaijan, but also began exporting oil products to Armenia. In other words, over these six months, we started cooperation. Now we are increasing our trade ties,” the head of state said.
The Azerbaijani leader noted that he met with the Prime Minister of Armenia this morning and discussed how they are moving forward: “Undoubtedly, today's awards ceremony, the appreciation of our efforts by this esteemed jury and all our friends, is very inspiring. I believe our example should still be studied by those who are still at war and accepted as a roadmap. Our example shows that peace is possible despite long-term conflicts, suffering, and mutual distrust,” the head of state said.
