New authority has been granted to the Prosecutor General's Office, this is reflected in the amendments to the Tax Code approved by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, APA reports.
Until now, the import and sale of equipment and technical means, their spare parts, special software, and ammunition used for defense and state security purposes were exempt from VAT based on a confirming document issued by the relevant executive authority (such as the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Defense Industry, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Justice, as well as other state services and state entities determined by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 28, 2023). According to the amendment, this authority has also been granted to the Prosecutor General's Office.
