TV channelâ€™s broadcasting suspended in Azerbaijan

The meeting considered the extension of the term of special permission (license) for broadcasting of “Aygun” Free Television and Radio Company (Zagatala).

At the meeting, it was decided not to extend the term of special permission (license) for broadcasting of “Aygun” Free Television and Radio Company (Zagatala) and to suspend its broadcasting from February 14, 2014 at 18:00.

The term of special permission (license) for broadcasting of “Aygun” Free Television and Radio Company (Zagatala) expired on December 11, 2013. Aygun” Free Television and Radio Company had not appealed for extension of the license term within the period envisaged by article # 22.3 of Azerbaijan’s law “On television and radio broadcasting” nor submitted necessary documents.

On December 11, 2013, NTRC considered the extension of the term of special permission (license) for broadcasting of “Aygun” Free Television and Radio Company (Zagatala). The consideration of the extension of the term of special permission (license) for broadcasting of “Aygun” Free Television and Radio Company was postponed as the company had not appealed for extension of the license term within the period envisaged by article # 22.3 of Azerbaijan’s law “On television and radio broadcasting” nor submitted necessary documents.

NTRC has approved the reference submitted by the commission established to investigate the activity of Aygun TV channel.
