APA reports that APA was called “The most significant news agency of the Caucasus” in the article published on The Diplomat newspaper.
According to the article, the president of the Board of Directors of the Azeri Press Agency (APA) –the most important of the Caucasus-, Nurshan Guliyev, has told a group of European journalists that when the Spanish embassy opens in Baku, the possibility of having a direct flight with Azerbaijan Airlines (Azal) to Madrid will be open.
At the moment, Azal has, among others, direct flights to Frankfurt, London, Paris, Rome, Milan, Vienna, Prague and Riga. Madrid would be one of the new destinations, as long as the commercial and diplomatic relations move forward between the two countries.
The president of the private and independent agency, Vusala Mahirgizi, recalled that during the meeting they had last April in Baku, the ministers for Foreign Affairs José Manuel García Margallo and Ilmar Mammadyarov, apart from having a friendly conversation about football, also discussed about the opening of the Spanish embassy in Baku, something that would be very important to go more deeply into the relations between both countries.
The article also includes views of Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Ali Hasanov: “Relations between the two countries have not reached the level expected. I believe that Spanish businessmen should come more often to Azerbaijan and have more presence here. The Spanish people are leaders in the touristic sector and we could learn much from the Spanish experience”.
Speaking about the first Azerbaijan’s biannual presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe that just started, Hasanov affirmed that it is very important and it means a lot for us.
