Khadija Ismayil gives testimony at Prosecutor's Office

Baku. Fuad Jafarov – APA. Journalist Khadija Ismayil gave testimony at Prosecutor General’s Office, she told APA.

The journalist said that she was questioned by investigator of Grave Crimes Investigation Department under the Prosecutor General’s Office Sanan Pashayev: “They wanted to know the source of information I disseminated on the social networks. I recalled him the provision on the right of journalists to protect the confidentiality of their sources envisaged in the law “On mass media outlets”.

She said that she will testify at Grave Crimes Investigation Department under the Prosecutor General’s Office tomorrow at 17:00 again.

Relevant agencies were instructed to investigate the media reports that on February 17, 2014 journalist Khadija Ismayilova disseminated and posted on her Facebook account state secret documents supposedly covering activity of the National Security Ministry.

Criminal case has been launched under article 284 (dissemination of state secrets).

Khadija Ismayilova has been summoned to the Prosecutor’s Office to give testimony as a witness.
