At the meeting, attended by editor of Kontext TV David Goessman and independent journalist Birgit Vetzelin, Vusala Mahirgizi toughly informed the guests about the activities of APA Holding, as well as the situation of media, human rights and democracy in Azerbaijan.
The guests in their turn said they are closely following the activities of Azerbaijan’s media outlets and German media also disseminate information about the events happening in our country, adding that the media agencies they work are trying to cover the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as the recent helicopter crash.
V.Mahirqizi told the guests the substructures of the holding she runs puts special emphasis on the issue of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and are doing all they can to inform the world community of Azerbaijan’s just position, emphasizing that Azerbaijan has lost more than 20 percent of its lands as a result of Armenian aggression and over a million Azerbaijani were deprived of their native lands.
“Somehow, the international community, especially influential international organizations, speaking of democratic values, turn blind eyes to it. We want the world press, including the German media to be objective and defend the international law, which means supporting the right position of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan doesn’t take a step running contrary to the international law in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” she said.
Later on, Chairman of the “APA Holding” Board of Directors Nurshan Guliyev touched upon the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, stressing that APA Holding, as a media outlet, disseminates accurate and unbiased information in this regard. At the same time, he also invited foreign journalists to Azerbaijan and urged them to prepare reports on the current state of the country facing the Armenian aggression, in particular the towns of refugees and IDPs, as well as frontline areas.
At the end of the meeting, the guests familiarized themselves with the activities of APA Holding.
