The next stage of training on the topic “Azerbaijani Language in the Media” has been organized at the Teleradio Academy operating under “Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting” CJSC, APA reports.
On the fourth day of the training, masterclasses were conducted by Rustam Aliyev, founder of “Media FM” radio station, Honored Artist and speech culture specialist Sevda Agazade, and Honored Journalist, head of the APA Journalism School, Qabil Abbasoglu. The training was dedicated to the topic “Successful communication: fluent speech and headline writing.”
During the training, Rustam Aliyev emphasized that language is the main tool of journalism, and noted that in order to preserve the language, it is necessary to first know it perfectly, that Persian and Arabic languages have a great influence on the Azerbaijani language, and that it is important to preserve the national vocabulary and return forgotten expressions to the media.
The current state of the Azerbaijani language, the richness of our vocabulary, and the importance of preserving the structure of the language were also discussed.
Honored Artist and speech culture specialist Sevda Agazade provided participants with information on the topic “A beautiful voice and fluent speech – the road to success.” She noted that correct pronunciation of letters plays an important role in making the voice sound pleasant.
During the training, the importance of breathing techniques for proper speech was emphasized, and four main breathing methods were explained to the participants. It was stated that proper breathing is essential for high-quality voice.
Honored Journalist and head of the APA Journalism School, Qabil Abbasoglu, spoke about the topic “Headline writing.” He noted that one of the most serious problems he has encountered over many years has been creating headlines. He stated that society remains in a continuous flow of information and that the media has entered a highly competitive environment with citizen journalism. Qabil Abbasoglu emphasized that in these conditions, the main weapon of the media is a properly chosen headline.
It was also reported in the speech that subheadings are mainly intended for search engines, should not exceed 60 characters, and should be chosen based on keywords.
It was noted that the main purpose of the trainings is to promote the correct, fluent, and literary-standard use of the Azerbaijani language in the media environment.
