Baku. Victoria Dementieva – APA. “I don’t think that any restriction in the laws on freedom of mass media will be put in Azerbaijan in future. On the contrary, there is financial and economic support and the support of state to this sphere increases,†Deputy Chief of the Public Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Arastun Mehdiyev told journalists, APA reports.
He noted that law “On mass mediaâ€, which is an effective in Azerbaijan today, was prepared and approved within the close cooperation with international organizations: “According to experts, this law is one of the most liberal laws in Europe.â€
Arastun Mehdiyev said that freedom of speech and media is one of the main priorities of the public policy: “The public policy serves the free and independent operation of mass media.â€
