NTRC to announce results of monitoring on advertisement and sponsors of TV channels

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. â€œOne of the main problems in the TV channels is related to advertisement and sponsors. More serious measures will be taken on this issue in the nearest future. The results of monitoring conducted due to advertisement in the TV channels will be announced at the next meeting of the NTRCâ€, Chairman of the National Television and Radio Council Nushiravan Maharramli told APA.

According to him, the Council is concerned about the situation on advertisement and sponsors: â€œMay be we will have problems with TV channels in accordance with the results of monitoring. The issue of sponsorship by the clinics is not a violation of law indeed. It is considered in the requirements for the sponsors. The clinics can sponsor the TV programs. These programs contain certain educational issues, but it is evident that these have concealed advertising character. We will discuss seriously this issue with the TV channelsâ€.

â€œWe canâ€™t oblige the TV channel, we will give them recommendation. Azerbaijan has official holidays and mourning days. On mourning days, the channels will be recommended to broadcast corresponding programs, but not to broadcast the entertainment and musical programs. The programs broadcasted in the holidays must be correspondent to the essence of the holidaysâ€.
