APA’s First Deputy Director General Nurshan Guliyev said the directory was issued for the military reporters. “It was the project’s final act, which was preceded by the different events. The book explains the military terms and notions for the military reporters and writers. There is a separate section containing specific terms of Air Forces, Navy and Border Troops. It also contains special days of Azerbaijan’s defense history, locations of the governmental and non-governmental defense agencies, contacts, websites and e-mails. There is also list of military ranks and badges, which is important in establishing of contacts between the defense officials and journalists”.

Guliyev said Azerbaijan was at war and therefore defense issues were frequently covered by the press. “There are some problems with use of military terms in these publications. Therefore we decided to issue this directory to help solving of these problems. We think that it will be good guidance for the journalists”.

The book’s editor Javid Jabbaroglu said the journalists would determine how successful this idea was. The copies of directory will be shared free among the media organizations and libraries.
