National Broadcasting Council to assign Azerbaijani TV channels special task

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. â€œFrom legal aspect the National Broadcasting Council has no right to interfere with the creative work of the TV channels. But the legislation lays responsibility on us to protect national, moral values, norms of the literary language,â€ Chairman of the National Broadcasting Council Nushiravan Maharramli said, APA reports. According to him, the laws have certain articles that the council can cite to, carry out detailed investigation and interfere with the activity of the TV channels when necessary.
â€œWe do not want to interfere. But if it continues so, we will investigate the activity of some channels, radios and programs and take certain measures,â€ he said.

Maharramli said the council will assign the TV channels a special task to create a mechanism in the selection of presenters.
â€œWe should review the forms of the competitions held by the TV channels to choose presenters,â€ he said.
