Grain transportation by rail from Russia to Armenia via a new route passing through Azerbaijan has become regular, said Sergey Pavlov, First Deputy Director General of Russian Railways, APA reports.
He recalled that in November 2025, restrictions on the transit of cargo to Armenia through Azerbaijani territory were lifted, as a result of which, for the first time in many years, a train loaded with grain from Russia was dispatched.
“Currently, cargo deliveries are being carried out on a regular basis. In the future, we plan to further develop transportation along this route,” Pavlov noted.
Recall that to date, 20,660 tons of grain have been shipped from Russia to Armenia via transit through Azerbaijan.
