The international creative team of the adventure film “Armour of God: Ultimatum” has begun the next stage of filming in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Republic Cinema Agency (ARKA) told APA.
According to the information, the start of filming in Baku was traditionally marked by a special ceremony involving the breaking of a film plate.
The plot of the film centers on the “Asian Hawk's” new mission. He must find the ancient Tumar artifact, for which a reward of more than $20 million has been announced.
Filming is taking place simultaneously in several countries. The project is being carried out by an international team bringing together actors and film professionals from different countries. For the first time, film crews from Kazakhstan and China have joined forces for the production of the film.
“Ultimatum” is the fourth film in the already cult “Armour of God” franchise. Famous actor Jackie Chan plays the lead role. The actor once again portrays the legendary adventurer “Asian Hawk.”
Baku was selected as a filming location in accordance with the film's artistic concept. According to the plot, the new chapter of the story unfolds around the Caspian Sea. Therefore, the next stage of filming is taking place in Azerbaijan. A number of key scenes of the film will be shot at various locations in Baku.
This stage also holds special significance for Jackie Chan. The actor is filming in Azerbaijan for the first time.
“Working in a country where I have never filmed before is particularly exciting for me,” Jackie Chan said.
The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and ARKA are supporting the organization of the film crew's visit to Azerbaijan and the filming process in the country.
More than 100 local specialists from various film professions have been involved in the film's production process. Filmlab.az is handling the production of the project in Azerbaijan, as well as providing film commission services.
Filming of “Armour of God: Ultimatum” will continue until autumn 2026. The film is scheduled to premiere in 2027.
