Contact lens will replace TV in a decade

Bakuâ€“ APA-Economics. Huge strides in technology will enable people to watch television relayed through their contact lenses, it was revealed.
Experts believe the continuing development in the miniaturisation of technology will result in tiny TV screens that can be simply popped onto the eye like a contact lens, becoming commonplace within the next decade.
The report was conducted by The Future Laboratory, for electrical retailers Comet.
Futurologist Ian Pearson said the contact lens would enable people to watch television in bed with their eyes closed.
He explained: "They will work just like normal contact lenses, they will be pain free and you will be able to see normally through them.
"The only hint that they are in your eye may be a slight tint. You will just pop it in your eye in the morning and take it out at the end of the day. It doesn’t matter to the lens whether your eyes are open or shut, so you could watch the news with your eyes shut as you wake up, or watch a video on the train."
The lenses work through combination of lasers and micro mirrors and are estimated to cost around Â£400 when they finally appear on our high streets in around 10 years’ time.
Other inventions that seem to come straight from the pages of a science fiction novel include tattoos that change depending on the user’s mood and video make-up, configured via a digital bathroom mirror, that can change throughout the day.
The report predicts future TV viewers will be able to "feel" the movies being played out in front of them.
A combination of rumble packs in sofas, lighting and sound effects which respond to the viewer’s reactions combined with the use of the digital tattoos will radically alter the film watching experience, the report said.
