Azerbaijan and Indonesia extend ICT cooperation

Baku. Aynur Valiyeva – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan and Indonesia plan to extend cooperation in information and communication technologies.

Spokesman for Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies Mushfig Amirov told APA-Economics that Azerbaijani ambassador to Indonesia Ibrahim Hajiyev met with newly-appointed Indonesian Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Tifatul Sembiring.

Hajiyev handed the letter of Azerbaijan’s Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov to the Indonesian Minister and discussed the prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Indonesia. The ambassador presented the draft “Agreement on cooperation in the field of ICT”.

Indonesian Minister appreciated Azerbaijan’s geostrategic position, development, integration into the world unity, took interest in the draft resolution “Building connectivity through the Trans-Eurasian Information Super Highway” which was initiated by Azerbaijan and adopted in the 64th session of the UN General Assembly on November 12, 2009, the report that the country will launch satellite and said discussions on improving the cooperation will be held during his visit to Azerbaijan.
