Transportation services up 7.5% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Cargo transportation increased by 3%, year-on-year, to 170.4 million tons and cargo turnover increased by 10.4% in January-November, said the State Statistical Committee.

Of this, 48.4% were transported by road, 33.5% by pipeline, 11% by rail and 7.1% by sea.

Private sector took 73% of the total transportation.

Transportation services provided by transportation entities and individuals grew by 7.5% during this period.

Passenger traffic increased by 6.7% to 1.2 billion people. Of this, 83.8% was transported by road and 15.7% by metro. The private sectorâ€™s share was 83.7%.
