Baku - APA. SOCAR issued regular information about the offshore platform accident, APA reports quoting SOCAR.
 
The dead bodies of 3 of the 4 workers, missing after an accident at the faulty platform #441 of the Narimanovneft oil and gas production department, have been found  and took them to the shore by divers of SOCAR and MES.The search for another missing worker is underway.

Baku – APA. SOCAR has released a new statement on the offshore platform accident.

 

A repair platform at the 441st platform of the oil and gas management ‘Narimanneft’ of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) collapsed during ongoing repairs at around 12:00 October 23, the company told APA.

 

As a result of the collapse, a small wagon-house on the platform fell into the sea. The fire occurred as a pipeline with a diameter of 700 mm over the platform was broken. The fire was extinguished at 12:45.

 

At the moment of the collapse, there were 41 workers at the site. Thanks to the operative measures taken by a rescue team, 37 workers were evacuated and taken to the shore via ships Orion-15 and PSK-52.

 

The injured workers are currently being provided with first aid. Search operation is underway for four persons, supposedly fallen into sea during offshore platform accident. Additional information will soon be given.

 

A special commission has been created in order to investigate the accident.
