Ombudsman Office representatives meet with Ilgar Mammadov

Baku. Gulnar Bashirova – APA. Under the instructions of Commissioner for Human Rights Elmira Suleymanova, employees of the Office of the Ombudsman have visited prisons No.2 and 17 of the Justice Ministry’s Penitentiary Service. In order to immediately investigate the appeal made to the commissioner, the ombudsman representatives received Ilgar Mammadov who is kept at prison No.2 of the Penitentiary Service, the Ombudsman Office told APA.

At the time of reception, Ilgar Mammadov said he has suffered from coughing and high temperature for a couple of days, been examined by doctors of the Justice Ministry’s medical department, is receiving in-patient treatment at the facility’s medical-sanitary department, and begun feeling good after the treatment. The facility’s leadership was informed of some of his words. And the chief doctor at the medical-sanitary department was recommended to control his health condition.

On the same day, the ombudsman representatives went to prison No.17, learning the detentions conditions and health of those kept in the prison and the treatment towards them.

During the confidential talks with the prisoners, who were received in their cells, the persons didn’t complain about their detention conditions or treatment.
