Baku man suspected of murdering company director and his mother gives testimony

Baku. Shahriyar Alizade â€“ APA. Baku Court of Grave Crimes has today continued the hearing on the criminal case of Ruhin Allahverdiyev, accused of murdering a company director and his mother.

The court investigation has been launched at the hearing. The public prosecutor announced the bill of indictment. Then Allahverdiyev gave a testimony. He pleaded partially guilty. â€œI was doing some repair works at their house. I received money from them before the incident, but didnâ€™t do the work. On that day, I went to them to ask pardon, get money after doing some work. But, we started to quarrel. I firstly hit the women, then her son with a hammer. Then I took the purse from the cupboard in the corridor and fled. After 11 days, I was arrested. Investigation materials say that I did it for drugs, but itâ€™s wrong. Yes, I am using drugs, but I wonâ€™t kill anyone for this. I threw the hammer into the sea,â€ he said.

The hearing will be proceeded on June 17.

The dead bodies of Janna Maharramova, 69, and her son Aleksandr Maharramov, 34, with signs of violence were discovered in their home on Jan. 19.

As a result of urgent investigative and operational actions, Baku resident, Ruhin Allahverdiyev, 39, who was previously convicted under Article 234.1 of the Criminal Code, was detained on murder suspicion.

The investigation revealed that on Jan. 17, Allahverdiyev came to the house of Janna and Aleksandr Maharramov to continue repair works as they agreed beforehand and deliberately killed them with numerous hammer blows on their heads.

Aleksandr Maharramov was the director of Business Dialogue, a company offering business consulting service. He was also the founder of the website business-dialogue.az.
