Baku. Shahriyar Alizade – APA. Baku Court of Appeal held a hearing on the appeal of journalist Rauf Mirgadirov on March 16.
The hearing presided over by judge Abid Abdinbeyov took place behind closed doors.
Lawyer Fuad Aghayev said that Rauf Mirgadirov asked the court for acquittal and the public prosecutor demanded to uphold the judgment.
The hearing will be resumed tomorrow.
Mirgadirov is charged with treason (Article 274). The Baku Court of Grave Crimes has sentenced him to six years in jail - the judgment against which the appeal was filed.
