Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. A fire has occurred in an oil well site in Azerbaijan.
A massive explosion was heard prior to the fire, eyewitnesses told APA.
The press service of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) confirmed the fact to APA. According to information, an explosion occurred in site No.441 of the Oil and Gas Extraction Office (OGEO) of the Azneft Production Association (PA) named after Narimanov.
There are no immediate reports of any casualties or injuries.
The Fire Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations told APA firefighters are continuing efforts at the site to extinguish the fire.
