Baku – APA. Members of a criminal gang who are accused of abducting an Azerbaijani citizen in Ukraine have been arrested, according to Ukrainian media.
The criminals demanded money in the amount of 10,000 hryvnia from the wife of the Azerbaijani named Fuad. The woman appealed to the police, saying that the criminals threatened her husband.
The Azerbaijani was released while the members of the criminal gang were handed over money. Besides, two others, who were involved in his abduction, were also detained.
“I told them I do not have much money. If you want to kill me, do not torture me. Instead, give me a knife to kill myself. Two men beat me in the car”, said Fuad.
A criminal case was launched against the criminals. They may face up to 10 years in prison.
