Azerbaijani woman killed, two sons seriously injured in Somalia bus attack  - <span style="color: red;">UPDATED

34-year-old Kamala Savalan, resident of the Lekchilpag village of Azerbaijan's Goychay district was killed and her sons–-11-year-old Nihad and 10-year-old Nijat–-were injured during the attack, APA has learned.  

 

Kamala Ismayilova’s husband Ismayilov Aflatun Veysel fainted after learning about the incident, the victim’s relative, Goychay resident Shahin Yagubov told APA.  

 

According to him, Aflatun Ismayilov, who lived in Turkey with his family for a long time, then went to Somalia to work.  “Aflatun Ismayilov is working in the Turkish Airlines’ office and a Turkish tourism company in Mogadishu,” Yagubov said. 

 

Yagubov said Kamala Ismayilova was a teacher at a private Turkish lyceum in Mogadishu. The headmaster of the Turkish lyceum, Bulent Ergunes, who is also Aflatun Ismayilov’s brother-in-law, phoned his brother Aslan Ismayilov and explained what had happened.

 

Bulent Ergunes said that a lyceum-owned microbus which was carrying six teachers and six pupils was attacked on Wednesday.

 

According to preliminary information, six were killed and others were seriously injured during the attack.
