Rzayev noted that most of appeals received by the Supreme Court are also related to civil cases.
“80 percent of cases considered in the Supreme Court and Azerbaijan’s all courts are civil and economic cases. Criminal cases in Azerbaijan have remained stable over the past 15-20 years. Azerbaijan ranks last among CIS countries for number of criminal cases considered in the courts. Azerbaijani courts hear up to 15,000 criminal, over 165,000 civil and economic cases per year,” he added.
