Ministry of Emergency Situations holds event on 90th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev

Baku. Ramil Mammadli – APA. The Ministry of Emergency Situations has held an event on the occasion of Heydar Aliyev’s 90th anniversary.

APA reports that at the beginning of the event, the documentary film “You are so high…” (“SÉ™n elÉ™ bir zirvÉ™sÉ™n...”) made by the Public Relations Department “Multimedia Center” of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and dedicated to Heydar Aliyev’s jubilee was demonstrated. Along with the political life of Heydar Aliyev, the film also features his role in establishment of emergency situations agencies in Azerbaijan, including former USSR.

Addressing the event, Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel General Kemaleddin Heydarov characterized Heydar Aliyev as a true personality. He said that during all periods of his leadership, Heydar Aliyev made great contributions to the vital spheres: “Consequently, Azerbaijan has developed dynamically. The redevelopment activities laid the foundation of the strong economy in the country. President Ilham Aliyev is also successfully continuing this process.”

The Minister said that Azerbaijan developed dynamically during the Soviet period, when Heydar Aliyev headed the Republic: “It seems that Heydar Aliyev foresaw and believed in the independence of Azerbaijan. Therefore, all of his activities were focused on the future independence of the country."

Heydarov noted that Heydar Aliyev laid the foundation of Azerbaijan’s modern development: “Our duty is to resolutely continue this work. The Azerbaijani people are happy that they have National Leader like Heydar Aliyev and President like Ilham Aliyev. Merits of Heydar Aliyev are seen in every sphere.”

Deputy executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), MP Siyavush Novruzov spoke about the work done by Heydar Aliyev in the economic development of Azerbaijan. He said all steps of Aliyev were focused on protection of the people and their development:

“Heydar Aliyev’s returning to power prevented separatism in the country and saved Azerbaijan from breakdown and incompetent leaders. At present, Azerbaijan has no elder brother nor is a vassal of anyone. The country’s budget has increased by 25 times. Today, our President is carrying out all necessary activities to develop the country”. In his speech, Novruzov estimated the Ministry of Emergency Situations as a successful structure.
