Head of Public Relations Department of the Chief State Traffic Police Office Kamran Aliyev told APA that 904 traffic accidents were recorded in Azerbaijan in the first four months, 2013. 339 died and 983 were injured in the aftermath of these accidents.
Aliyev also noted that 25 of the accidents were committed by drunken drivers. 14 died and 32 were injured as a result of these accidents.
Aliyev said that statistics of traffic accidents in Azerbaijan has increased this year compared to relevant period of the last year. The number of traffic accidents rose by 20%, the number of the dead by 56% and the injured by 16%.
