The individual born in 2002, accused of killing 27-year-old Sahib Bayramov at a market in Georgia’s Marneuli district, has been detained in the “Kartsakhi” border sector on the border with Türkiye, APA’s local bureau reports, citing the Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
The investigation determined that the accused wounded a father and son with a firearm at a jewelry store in the Marneuli market and then fled the scene. The injured individuals were hospitalized, and one of them later died from the injuries sustained.
As a result of the investigative measures taken, the identity of the perpetrator was quickly determined and operational and search measures provided for by law were carried out against him.
The crime committed is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
Georgia’s MIA expressed gratitude to the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as to representatives of the Customs and Foreign Trade Service, for their prompt cooperation.
It should be noted that yesterday, the Prosecutor General's Office of Georgia indicted the perpetrator in absentia. He is accused of attempted premeditated murder of two or more persons by order and with special cruelty, and illegal acquisition, possession and transportation of firearms.
